Royal appointment: three-year deal for Bridgestone05 November 2015

Luxury coach hire company Kingsferry Coaches has extended its contract with tyre manufacturer Bridgestone for a further three years.

Under the deal, Kingsferry’s fleet of 61 coaches will be fitted with Bridgestone M788 tyres, with Watling Tyres managing and servicing the pence-per-kilometre contract.

The fleet runs on 295/80 R22.5 and 315/80 R22.5 tyre sizes.

Rob Rose, of Watling Tyres, said both the product and close relationships with the operator secured the deal: “The all-season nature of the M788 means that it is suitable to use in Europe during the winter ski season... It means the tyres don’t have to be changed on arrival in countries like Austria, so we are providing convenience.

“The overall relationship we have with Kingsferry is very strong and we’d also like to think that this has played a part in the overall decision.”

Kent-based Kingsferry has also opted for Bridgestone’s TPMS offering, which has been rolled out across the UK to provide a pressure maintenance service to contract fleet customers.
