Ryder shows its mettle with new DAF fleet for Metalweb24 January 2018

Metals stockholder and processor Metalweb has renewed its entire fleet with ten new DAF trucks, supplied on a six-year, full service lease from Ryder.

The Birmingham-based operator’s new additions are all box trucks and include five CF230 18-tonners with body length of 8.5m and three LF180 12-tonners with body length of 7.3m. Both models are on a 4x2 axle configuration.

The remainder are two CF330 26-tonners, with 9.1m body length and 6x2 axle configuration.

“The requirements to cut, pack and deliver on time are high in a demanding marketplace where customer service is key, so it is important for Metalweb’s operations to have a transport fleet it can rely on,” says Karl Weston, Metalweb’s managing director.

“Metalweb is pleased to have secured a new fleet, sourced through its chosen service partner Ryder.”
