Rygor welcomes new apprentice intake24 October 2017

Mercedes-Benz dealer group Rygor has welcomed its 2017 apprentice intake, a dozen 16- to 19-year olds who are embarking on the three-year scheme.

The Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle technician apprenticeship and the parts apprenticeship can also be complemented with a fourth ‘improver’ year.

James Edwards (pictured), who joined Rygor 17 years ago as an apprentice technician and is now group technical manager, says: “The Mercedes-Benz apprenticeship at Rygor gives us the opportunity to nurture talented and ambitious people, and help them become skilled specialists in their chosen field.”

He adds: “The Rygor team has been attending careers fayres at local schools and colleges, ready for our 2018 intake, to help give young people an insight into what it is like to be a commercial vehicle aftersales professional, working with some of the most prestigious vans and trucks in the industry. These career days give us the opportunity to demonstrate the extensive, quality training apprentices would receive.”

In addition to the apprenticeship programme, Rygor also puts all workshop technicians at its 20-plus branches through the irtec Inspection Accreditation.
