West Coast Motors’ six new additions includes its first Euro 6 4x2 Scania Irizar i6 – also the first of its type to have a rear emergency exit door fitted with retractable steps, which extend from under the floor when the door is opened.
The 51-seater (pictured) has a 360bhp engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system. The vehicle spec includes additional CCTV and Bi-Xenon headlights, lane departure warning and advanced emergency braking, and inside it has USB charging points at every seat, washroom with electric hand drier, front-mounted PLS magic floor wheelchair lift and Bosch Professional 3 entertainment system. It is supplied with a two-year R&M contract from Scania Bellshill.
The same operator has also taken delivery of five identical Scania Irizar i6 coaches for the Citylink Air shuttle service it operates between Buchanan Bus Station, Glasgow, and Edinburgh Airport.
The 14.2-metre overall length vehicles feature Scania’s K 360 EB 6x2*4 rear-steer tri-axle chassis with 360bhp Euro 6 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.
The specification includes 59 passenger seats, four of which are removable to allow one wheelchair position. There are USB charging points at every seat and on board superfast 4G Wi-Fi equipment.
Elsewhere, London-based Airport Transfer Cars has taken delivery of its first new Scania coach, a Touring HD 12.1m fitted to Scania’s Euro 6 K 360 IB4x2 chassis with fully automated Opticruise gear selection, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and advanced emergency braking.
The spec also includes CCTV, Xenon headlights and Bosch AV equipment, and the vehicle is supplied on a two-year R&M contract with Scania South Mimms.
