Scania launches new skiploader with Hyva17 January 2019

Scania has unveiled a skiploader based on its 18-tonne gvw New Generation P-series chassis and developed in conjunction with Hyva.

Available to order from Scania UK dealers, the Scania Skiploader is available in either day-cab or short day-cab format, with steel suspension front and rear. The vehicle can be specified with a 7- or 9-litre engine, delivering from 217bhp to 355bhp, driving through an eight-speed GR875 range-change gearbox with fully-automated Opticruise gear selection system.

Up to three performance modes from a choice of Standard, Economy, Power or Off-road can be selected. Scania’s R660 rear axle with differential lock completes the driveline.

“The New Generation P-series 4x2 rigid chassis is ruggedly constructed, durable, reliable and safe,” says Scania (Great Britain)’s sales director Andrew Jamieson.

“By combining with Hyva, we have a vehicle that is not only tailormade for its application, but also offers the convenience of a one-stop, cost-effective product which can be acquired and fully maintained with Scania as the sole source of supply.”

The bodywork is Hyva’s NG2012XL skiploader equipment. This has extendable telescopic arms and a rapid off-load function. Independently-operated controls for the arms and jack legs ensure flexibility across a range of operating conditions.

The NG2012XL can lift 12 tonnes with its arms retracted, or 8 tonnes when extended.

The vehicle is supplied with a two-year R&M package.
