Scania’s service pulls in two new coach deals17 April 2015

Pats Coaches has taken delivery of a Scania Touring HD tri-axle coach, based on Scania’s 410bhp Euro 6 K 410 EB6x2*4 chassis with fully-automated Opticruise gear selection system.

The vehicle (pictured) has 57 reclining seats with footrests, three-point seatbelts, seatback tables, drinks machine, centre sunken toilet, DVD and two monitors, extradark tinted glass, and alloy wheels.

The vehicle also features Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning safety features.

"When we look for a new coach, two of the most important factors are excellent back-up and reliability," says Keith Davies, director of the Wrexham-based operator.

Service and back-up were also key criteria for Carvers Coaches, which has taken delivery of a Scania Irizar i-Skool 70-seater.

Based upon a Scania K 320 IB4x2 Euro 5 chassis, it has a 320bhp Euro 5 engine and fully-automated Opticruise gear selection system.

Carvers' specification includes all-age three-point seatbelts, air conditioning and extra tinted side glass.

"Our first brand new coach was a 2006 Scania Irizar 70 seater," says Mark Carver, owner of the Ellesmere Port-based operator

"The time had come to upgrade this coach, so it was an easy decision to stick with this tried and tested combination."
