Scania’s young European truck driver competition returns for 201015 January 2010

Scania is promising a top prize of one of its new R-series trucks for the winner of Europe's largest truck driving event – the Scania Young European Truck Driver competition.

The reward for the winner of the UK-leg of the competition will be a place at the European final, to be held in Sweden over the weekend of 8—9 October. There, he or she will compete against fellow drivers from 24 other European countries.

To represent the UK, the winning contestant will have to prove his or her driving and road safety skills through a series of theory and practical tests.

To get started, young drivers (C+E licence holders born in 1975 or later who are citizens of the European Union and are employed full-time in the UK as an LGV driver) should register by 31 May online at www.scania.co.uk/yetd
