Scottish haulier hooks up with Tiger for four new curtainsiders19 April 2018

Haulier Hayton Coulthard has taken delivery of four new curtainsider trailers from Tiger Trailers, after seeing impressive results from a seed trailer which has been in its fleet since 2016.

The 13.6m tri-axle straight frame curtainsiders are additions to Hayton Coulthard’s expanding fleet and, says the operator, are light enough to maximise payload capacity, yet tough enough to withstand demanding haulage operations.

Each trailer features Tiger’s front aerofoil design, which works with the rear roof scoop to help improve aerodynamics and lower fuel consumption.

Underrun lights are positioned on a separate pressed steel outrigger for added protection. A grab strap is also incorporated within a recess on the rear pillar to allow safe access into the trailer via the rear doors, without compromising load space.

Duncan Coulthard, managing director at Hayton Coulthard, says: “Our first Tiger-built trailer proved the build quality and suitability for our operation, so we know these new additions will match our expectations.

“The level of detail and care Tiger shows towards its products made it an easy decision to come back for more, and we’ll hopefully be adding more Tigers to the fleet.”

The new additions join a fleet of 150 curtainsider trailers and 120 tractors. They will be used up to seven days a week, covering 200,000 miles a year.
