Supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, the truck is the first Renault vehicle on the operator’s nine-strong fleet and has a forestry specification with Kesla Forestri crane and Dennison skeletal trailer.
It is also fitted with air-horns, light-bar and spotlights.
Tommy Rapson, partner in the firm, says he was won over by the vehicle, despite being sceptical about the merits of Euro 6: “The approach from Renault Trucks Scotland and a test drive, organised by Elgin Truck and Van in Inverness, left me feeling extremely impressed. The competitive package on offer, which includes a five-year repair and maintenance contract, sealed the deal.”
The driver, too, is impressed, says Rapson: “The Highlands are renowned for their challenging hills, but the Range T climbs them effortlessly; our driver has found that it pulls like a train and walks away from the competition.
“The truck has been outstanding off-road too. Forestry roads are notoriously gruelling, but the Range T handles them with ease.”
He adds: “The Range T has positively changed my perception of Euro 6 and Renault Trucks. It is tough and reliable... Overall, I’m delighted that I swapped across to Renault Trucks and I will definitely be considering them for any trucks we need in the future.”
