Accessible via the Shell app, Shell Go+ provides instant rewards on selected food and drink ranges and savings on fuel every ten visits. It is based on the number of visits to Shell sites, rather than the previous points system; it replaces the current Shell Drivers’ Club scheme, which will cease at the end of June.
Shell says it launched the new programme because one in three transactions at a Shell service station is a non-fuels purchase – showing, it says, that sites are being used increasingly for the purchase of refreshments and to take a rest-stop.
Rewards include money off fuel every tenth visit and £3 off every 300 litres when refilling with Shell V-Power. Members also receive instant rewards on every visit such as 10% off all hot drinks, Shell Helix Motor Oils and the new Jamie Oliver deli by Shell food range. Other ‘surprise’ free rewards on a range of items are personalised based on customer preferences and purchase history.
“This is the first time we have developed a rewards programme for all types of fleets, irrespective of their vehicle: whether that be heavy goods vehicles, large goods vehicles or passenger vehicles,” said Michael Hominick, Shell’s UK retail marketing manager.
Customers need to scan their digital Shell Go+ card within the app to register visits and trigger savings. Those who prefer a card or key fob can order one through the Shell Go+ website (see link below).
