Shell set to unveil road haulage managers’ report on fuel saving 15 April 2014

This year's CV Show (29 April to 1 May, NEC, Birmingham) will see Shell unveil the results of independent research that examines fuel management priorities for more than 200 road haulage operators.

The report, which will be available from the euroShell card stand, is set to reveal the most common techniques used by transport managers to reduce fuel consumption – as well as their opinions on the greatest opportunities stil to come to enhance savings.

Phil Williams, head of Shell Commercial Fleet UK, says it will also highlight what they believe are the most significant barriers to improving fuel management practices and what needs to be done to address them.

"Fuel management is an important job for fleet managers as it contributes significantly to operating costs," states Williams.

"Environmental credentials are also becoming an increasingly regular feature in customer tenders," he continues.

"Despite this, road haulage managers are telling us there's little information on the topic readily available and they need help.

"We commissioned this market research to address this and we hope road haulage managers will find the results useful for tackling this important challenge."
