Shire selects Nissan NV400 for nationwide distribution fleet 05 September 2016

Garden sheds and summer houses manufacturer Shire Garden Buildings has taken delivery of a 30-strong fleet of long-wheelbase Nissan NV400 dropside vans.

The Wisbech-based company says they will be used by its distribution teams who deliver more than 90,000 garden structures a year to stores and homes nationwide.

According to Nigel Hamer, finance controller for Shire GB, the firm was attracted to the NV400 for its all-round performance and five-year, 100,000-mile warranty.

“The Nissan NV400 represented very good value, while also offering a greater payload than many of the other vehicles we considered,” states Hamer.

“Our distribution teams like the drive and how comfortable they are, which is important as each of the vans will cover a considerable mileage, making deliveries from Cornwall to Scotland,” he continues.

“The compact dimensions also mean that our teams will not have any problems negotiating narrow streets.”

Hamer also rates local Nissan Dealer JS Holmes: “We’ve had good service … and it’s very likely we’ll be returning for more of the same vehicles next year.”
