Supplied by dealer Aquila Truck Centre in Worcester, the new trucks are gradually joining the 40-strong combined vehicle fleet between May and October this year.
“Our initial attraction to Isuzu was prompted by the payload achievable from the impressive 7 tonne gtw Grafter as a result of its 3.5-tonne gross towing capacity,” says Tom Rimell, director at Smart Cut. “This combination makes them ideal fleet vehicles as we transport a range of heavy plant equipment from job to job.”
All ten feature the Isuzu Driveaway TGS dropside body configuration: the popular specification makes the vehicles easy to sell on after two years, says Rimell, plus the trucks arrive ready for operation.
Rimell adds: “We are really pleased with our decision to switch to Isuzu. The latest Isuzu Euro VI Grafter Green is indeed an excellent working truck.
“Its new six-speed gearbox is significantly better than its predecessor, while most importantly it does not require Ad Blue, which is a major plus factor giving us reduced maintenance costs.”
The Grafter Green rigids account for a third of the combined fleet, with the companies planning an all-Isuzu fleet by the end of next year.
