SmartWitness and Corcra offer integrated telematics and camera 11 February 2016

Truck and van dashcam specialist SmartWitness is now working with fleet management firm Corcra to provide what the pair describe as an industry leading integrated telematics and camera product.

In essence, Corcra has integrated SmartWitness’s forward-facing KP1 camera into its system alongside Corcra sister company NIBC’s telematics offering.

The joint offering gives fleets and drivers a safety solution that includes telematics and driver behaviour, as well as live tachograph data with in-cab camera technology.

“The flexibility and scalability of the Corcra solution, when combined with SmartWitness’ products delivers a real benefit to Corcra’s customer base,” comments SmartWitness managing director Craig Lamont.

“We do feel that this is a unique solution for fleets of all shapes and sizes, being able to offer a range of services including tracking, CANbus telematics, remote download, live drive and now real time video transfer,” adds Corcra managing director Simon Williams.

“This puts us in a select group of providers who can be that one-stop shop.”

Video filmed through the SmartWitness KP1 is court admissible evidence, and can help protect drivers from staged accidents, false or exaggerated whiplash claims, conflicting reports of events, and driving offence allegations.

Lamont says that just 2% of incidents caught on SmartWitness cameras result in disputed insurance claims, compared tot an industry standard of 40% of all motor claims.
