Solar powered tail lift warning light unveiled 15 January 2013

A solar-powered platform flashing light, designed as an alternative to the tail lift flags, has been unveiled by Parts-4-Tail Lifts.

"CE regulations state that tail lifts should be visible in poor light conditions and it is industry practice to fit a flag with a reflective strip to comply with this statutory requirement," explains Parts-4-Tail Lifts managing director David Conman.

"However, the flags' visibility quickly becomes compromised due to wear and tear and so requires changing frequently. Our light is a much brighter, more modern and cost effective alternative, because it remains highly visible for its entire life."

Conman says that in operation an internal switch turns the light off when the platform is stowed. He also says that the solar panel provides easily sufficient charge even during the dullest of winter's short days.
