South Staffs renews Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles deal 25 February 2016

SSI Services, the contracting arm of South Staffordshire Plc, has bolstered its fleet of 1,200 LCVs by renewing its contract with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and taking more than 100 new Caddys and 23 new Transporters.

For over a decade, the business – which serves utilities, contractors, local authorities, FM companies and regulated bodies, such as the Environment Agency – has been using VW CVs to support its fleet, which includes over 800 Caddys, and Transporter and Crafter vehicles.

SSI says that central to the new vehicle deal was the newly-launched Caddy and Transporter vehicles reduced carbon impact, through BlueMotion technology.

“We have worked with VW Commercial Vehicles for over 10 years, and find the reliability, whole life costs and aftersales package unrivalled,” states Bob Stokes, head of fleet for South Staffordshire.

“[That] is why the brand was top of the list when it came to renewal. We are looking forward to taking delivery of the new models and the added safety and driver benefits.”

VW’s latest driver assistance and safety systems – standard on both Caddy and Transporter – include Brake Assist and Automatic Post Collision Braking.

SSI’s latest vehicles will be supplied across several of the company’s business arms, including Omega Red, Intergrated Water Services and Hydrosave.
