Sterling-bodied Scania is choice for L&A Reinforcements 10 August 2015

Alnwick-based L&A Reinforcements has taken delivery of a high-specification Scania R490 rigid bodied with a Sterling Cheesewedge low profile plant body and Fassi F275 truck-mounted crane.

The company, which specialises in piling guidewalls, says it needed a versatile truck that could be used to transport plant, piling equipment and site cabins between Northumberland and the South.

L&A chose Sterling because "they offered the best type of body to suit the multiple purposes required".

L&A managing director Simon Atkinson says Sterling also came highly recommended from Richard Wood of Scania, in Newcastle.

"The finished truck is both extremely versatile and of stunning appearance, and the team at Sterling were very diligent in designing the body to our exact requirements," he says.

And he adds that Sterling also demonstrated their ability to think outside of the box, with "innovative solutions to satisfy our multiple needs, health and safety legislation, and UK and EEC environmental standards".
