Suckling Transport renews Effitires tyre management contract 31 March 2015

Fuel distribution specialist Suckling Transport has renewed its Effitires outsourced tyre management contract with Michelin Solutions, which covers its 168-strong fleet of tractor units and trailers.

Dan Bauckham, director of engineering at Suckling Transport, explains that the contract works on a fixed pence per kilometre (PPK) basis, and that the firm uses the Michelin X Multi range across its fleet, including the latest generation X Multiway 3D tyre fitments on the tractor units. .

"Professional tyre management is vital to our business and plays a key role in our drive to reduce on-the-road incidents to zero," states Bauckham.

"By renewing our contract with Michelin Solutions we can ensure our vehicles are always operating on premium tyres, maintained in the best possible condition."

Michelin Solutions has appointed local service providers ATS Euromaster and Tructyre Fleet Management to support Suckling's multi-site fleet, inspecting tyres on vehicle and trailers on a monthly basis.
