Sunhill Transport opts for Krone coil liners 13 July 2012

Deeside-based steel haulier Sunhill Transport has taken its first delivery of coil carriers from Krone Trailers UK which, says the company, are providing greater loading flexibility and better opportunities for European work.

"We have added three Krone coil liners" confirms Sunhill Transport managing partner Peter Jones.

"The sliding roof, increased loading options and easy operation have provided immediate advantages," he continues.

"We can load faster, mix the product – which is important for return loads – and generally get more loaded miles from each job"

The trailers comply with European load security standard EN 12642 XL, so enabling Sunhill to operate in continental markets where loading safety is stringently enforced.

Unlike traditional flat bed or curtain covered steel carriers, these liners can be loaded through the sliding roof. Also, the coil well provides a safe and sturdy bed for each coil while the multi lock side raves allow a range of strapping options.

Also, to cope with pallets, paper or mixed loads, the coil well has phenolic–coated floor plates, which are light and easy to handle but still compatible with fork lift axle loads up to 5,460kg.

For safety, there are 10 pairs of heavy-duty lashing rings with a strapping load of 5,000kg, while for fast turnaround speeds, there are also moveable side posts and light weight side planks.
