Supporting the industry during the pandemic31 March 2020

While the UK remains in Covid-19 lockdown, members of the Society of Operations Engineers continue to transport supplies and personnel.

Hauliers, who supply supermarkets and pharmacies, among others, have been officially classified as essential workers in the context of the crisis; that means that they have been instructed to continue operations to the greatest extent possible. Similarly, PSV operators are still operating some bus services, although at reduced levels, to provide transport to key workers and for others’ essential travel.

During the crisis, and aided by remote working technology, the publishers of Transport Engineer will continue to provide news and technical articles to support their important work. The magazine will reach even those logistics professionals working from home or self-isolating, as, unlike many other titles, the magazine is distributed to members’ home addresses.

Transport Engineer is produced on behalf of the SOE by MA Business, part of the Mark Allen Group.
