Survey says... Citan vans are just the job for deliveries21 January 2014

M&P Survey Equipment has added four Mercedes-Benz Citans to its fleet, after a trial revealed that the compact model was better suited to its operation than Vito vans it previously used.

Supplied by dealer Road Range, the three long-bodies Citan 109 CDIs and one extra-long variant – each powered by the 90bhp engine – are all now being used by Chester-based M&P.

The vehicles will cover up to 50,000 miles a year, delivering Leica Geosystems surveying equipment to M&P's customers across the UK.

"We've previously used larger Mercedes-Benz Vito vans to do the same work, and have found them to be extremely dependable. But the more compact Citan is even better suited to our needs," says Les Poole, M&P's managing director.

"Fuel economy is another very important factor and the Citans are already proving to be very efficient."

Launched last year, the Citan marks the entry for Mercedes-Benz into the small van market.

The range combines fuel efficiency of up to 65.7 mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 112 g/km. Features include a folding bulkhead, to provide maximum load length as well as protection for the driver.

Citan has a volume carrying capacity of up to 3.8m³ and a maximum payload potential of 735kg.
