Sweet 16 Hyva trucks heading to Caleco Waste 25 March 2013

In one of the largest recent orders for truck waste handling equipment in Scotland, Hyva has just supplied the bodywork for 16 new trucks joining the Caleco Waste fleet.

The new vehicles are a mix of 10 Hyva 2012XL skiploader units mounted on 18-tonne gvw DAF LF chassis, and six Hyva 32 hooklifts fitted to larger 8x4 DAF CFs.

"Fitting Hyva bodywork to DAF chassis was an obvious choice for us," says Caleco transport manager Davy Lebrun.

"Both products have similar qualities, not least their ruggedness, reliability and everyday practicality," he continues.

"Both are also efficient and economical to own, and both are local to us for the all-important areas of after-sales parts and service support," he adds.

Lebrun explains that one of the principal benefits for Caleco in choosing the Hyva 2012XL unit is the extra-long (4.4m) reach afforded by its telescopic arms. And the body delivers a payload of more than nine tonnes within the DAF truck's 18 tonnes gvw.

"As with any truck operator, the two things we are looking for today are increased productivity with the lowest possible operating costs. The Hyva/DAF combination meets those requirements perfectly," comments Lebrun.
