Fourteen 3.5 tonne Renault Master L3 chassis cabs have been supplied by Renault Trucks Midlands, fitted with bespoke lightweight Fred Smith and Son’s box bodies, with internal shelving.
“This is the first time Bobby’s has used Renault Trucks,” comments transport manager, Julian Hill.
“We were looking for replacements for some older vehicles in our fleet and just felt that the Renault Master was more suitable for our requirements,” he continues.
“We felt that the Renault Master was more robust than others on the market and that the suspension and reinforced chassis would ensure maximum reliability,” he adds
Hill states that the Renault Masters were also “extremely easy to body” and provide “an impressive payload”.
And he adds that the firm was impressed with Renault Trucks’ nationwide 24-hour service facilities.
“This, together with a comprehensive 4 year or 100,000 mile warranty and competitive price, sealed the deal as a one-stop solution,” says Hill.
The Renault Masters replace 7.5 tonne trucks on one-day load deliveries, distributing snacks, sweets and cakes direct to local stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
