Sweet distribution deal for Carrier’s Vector 155018 January 2016

Gregory Distribution has taken delivery of 10 trailers fitted with Vector 1550 systems, from Carrier Transicold, to transport products for Cadbury’s.

The 10 mono-temperature Vector 1550 units are mounted to 15.6-metre Gray & Adams tri-axle longer semi-trailers (LSTs). The new arrivals are based in Birmingham and join Gregory’s 2,000-strong fleet of commercial vehicle assets.

“We’re certain our new Vector 1550 units, combined with the LSTs, will provide the ideal mix of capacity, fuel efficiency, low maintenance and reliability for the Cadbury’s contract,” says Andy Price, technical support manager, Gregory Distribution.

Gregory Distribution can maximise its payload potential on the LSTs as a result of the Vector 1550 unit’s cooling capacity of 14,995W, with optimised fuel efficiency.

This is achieved using a patented combination of a hermetic compressor with an economiser, enabling the use of an efficient 1.5-litre diesel engine. The economiser supplies up to a 40% increase in refrigeration capacity during pull-down, before automatically reducing during the temperature regulation phase to save fuel – all while delivering optimum cold chain protection.

Gregory’s Vector 1550 units were supplied with Carrier’s EverCold R&M contract.
