System integration delivers real-time driver data22 October 2013

Operators can now tap into real-time driver behaviour data to boost fleet performance, thanks to a partnership between Ctrack and Applied Driving Techniques (ADT).

Ctrack's vehicle tracking systems can be integrated with ADT's fleet compliance solution to enable fleet operators to reduce accident rates and fleet costs, and increase productivity.

The ADT compliance solution uses a range of data sources to identify risk, including automated licence checks, online risk assessments, maintenance audits and claims data. Until now, this information has only been available retrospectively, but with the integration of the Ctrack system it will be possible extract real-time driver performance data to highlight areas for improvement such as fuel use, and vehicle wear and tear.

Ctrack's system enables companies to compare driving performance, monitoring a range of actions including harsh acceleration, braking, cornering, travelling too quickly over speed humps, as well as speeding or excess idling. By integrating it with ADT's solution, it will be possible assess the best and worst performers to target training appropriately.

John Wisdom, managing director of Ctrack, says: "Improving the way employees drive can have a considerable impact on an organisation in terms of operational efficiency, environmental responsibility and heightened duty of care.

"This agreement with ADT will enable fleet operators to take advantage of the operational insight provided by the Ctrack system to identify what action is needed and provide valuable guidance to their fleet and HR functions."
