Tachometer fleet system deal with Trakm8 and TruTac17 June 2013

A deal has been agreed by Trakm8 and Coventry-based tachometer data analytics firm TruTac, under which the latter's legal data compliance analysis software will be integrated into Trakm8's telematics.

Trakm8 T8 hardware has been adapted so that the data from the tachograph can be downloaded via the secure hand shake process required by VOSA, without any other hardware.

T8 already has CANBus functionality for driver behaviour monitoring systems and to identify vehicle fault and service requirements. As a result, Trakm8 claims that it's system is "far more cost-effective to install than most other available solutions".

A built-in tacho analyser provides operators with driver and vehicle hours information required to monitor the legal compliance under the EU driver's hours regulations, and the GB domestic rules, as enforced by VOSA. All tachograph data is also validated and stored securely to meet legal requirements.

In addition, 'Trakm8 tacho mobile' has been launched to provide to the driver and the fleet manager with the current driver hours status and history on an easy to read mobile application.
