Supplied by dealer Bell Truck and Van, the Newcastle-based operator’s latest additions are powered by a 135bhp, 2.1-litre diesel engine, returning up to 43.5 mpg on the combined cycle.
“Our first Vito taxis continue to perform superbly, so it was a foregone conclusion that we’d go back for more,” says Lee Clayton, Blueline’s operations director.
The previous generation Vito, he says, delivers on comfort, economy and safety, “yet the new model has raised all of these attributes to an even higher level”.
Blueline’s fleet numbers 600 vehicles: traditionally, it purchased outright, but the first Vito models were taken on a lease deal, arranged by Bell Truck and Van.
The latest Vitos are the subject of an Agility funding package from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, which offers all the benefits of hire purchase, but with additional flexibility at the end of the term.
