Telematics delivers fast response and lower fuel bills for Heatcare13 February 2014

Servicing, maintenance and installation firm Heatcare Oil & Gas is reporting improved productivity and lower fuel bills since installing the Fleetmatics GPS vehicle tracking system.

Darren McLeod, director of Lhanbryde, Moray-based firm, says the system also enables Heatcare to guarantee a two-hour response to its customers.

Heatcare uses Fleetmatics to track its 20-strong fleet, servicing properties for housing associations across the north east of Scotland.

"For us to meet our two-hour emergency response targets, we needed a GPS vehicle tracking system that allowed us to quickly identify the closest engineer to the residence," explains McLeod.

"We chose the Fleetmatics vehicle tracking system because it is so easy to use and extremely reliable."

Other benefits include improvements in driving behaviour and better workforce management, with Heatcare able to verify engineers' timesheets.

"We have experienced significant benefits with Fleetmatics both in terms of job productivity and efficiency, as well as an added bonus – lower fuel bills," adds McLeod.
