Telematics ticks the boxes for Spar distributor Appleby Westward24 April 2018

Distribution business and wholesaler Appleby Westward has signed a three-year contract to install fleet management technology from Teletrac Navman across its fleet of 14 HGVs and 30 cars.

The operator – distributor for Spar retail stores – trialled the software for three months and says it “ticked all the boxes”.

“Given that before adopting Teletrac Navman’s technology we relied solely on manual timesheets, the deployment of industry-leading solutions will prevent us from falling behind the curve and give us the visibility we need to make effective improvements quickly,” predicts Rob Chapman-Brookes, transport manager at Appleby Westward.

“We are also hoping to free up valuable resource by removing manual processes and ensure greater integration across our fleet.”

Each HGV will have an integrated dashcam, allowing Appleby Westward to access video footage in the event of an incident, and will also be equipped with the M-Nav fleet tracking and management solution.

The deal includes unlimited aftercare and training for drivers and fleet managers.
