Tennant Transport turns to SAF axles for flat and tipper trailers 27 March 2015

Tennant Transport of Forth has taken delivery of its first order of 12 flat and two tipper trailers with SAF axle and suspension systems, which are now being specified as standard.

John Tennant, director at Tennant Transport, explains that its previous (unnamed) axle supplier's running gear was causing problems, with spring trailer arms breaking after one year on the flats.

He also says there were "constant issues" with U-bolts working loose on the tippers.

"Once we heard about the benefits of the SAF Intradrum ... we were more than happy to switch," says Tennant.

"The integrated suspension system from SAF does not have spring or U-bolts and will reduce our maintenance costs for the future – which is very good news."

SAF Intradrum is available in the UK from IMS, which is the exclusive distributor of SAF-Holland automotive equipment in the UK and Ireland.
