Tesco swaps to Secureseal for better trailer protection 07 January 2010

The UK's largest supermarket chain has replaced electronic security seals on its 4,000 trailers, citing unacceptable failure rates and delays in obtaining replacements for existing electronic seals.

The company says such scenarios were "putting our high standard of security sealing at risk." From now on, Tesco will use a permanent, reusable stainless steel seal from Secureseal, which comes with a security number generator that records unauthorised door openings.

Secureseal says that the devices typically last more than eight years.
