Supplied by dealer Midlands Truck & Van, the West Midlands-based operator’s latest vehicles are Sprinter 316 CDIs, and are its first with Euro 6, 163bhp engines.
The insulated conversions are by Paneltex Somers, of Norwich – its Direct Air System uses the airflow over the windscreen to improve fridge performance and fuel efficiency.
Theo’s has operated Mercedes vans since it began trading 25 years ago, starting with a handful of pre-owned models. More recently, it has leased new vehicles but the latest additions are on the flexible Agility agreement through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
Theo’s provides a nationwide delivery service: the latest Sprinters are equipped with advanced temperature monitoring systems and, for optimum flexibility, adjustable and removable bulkheads so they can be configured to carry either frozen or chilled products, or a combination of the two to suit the delivery route.
“Our reputation is based on the outstanding quality of our UK-sourced food products...It is imperative, therefore, that we use only the best vans to distribute our products – and that means Mercedes-Benz,” says Theo’s managing director Theo Gavriel.
“We have tried other makes of van in the past but they struggle to cope with our demanding work,” he says.

The vehicles are supplied with Mercedes-Benz Service Care Plans, with the dealer maintaining and repairing the vehicles. “Midlands Truck & Van’s workshop team are brilliant,” adds Gavriel. “They’re open 24 hours a day and understand the importance of keeping our vans out on the road.”
