Thermal imaging cameras enhance driver vision 10 July 2015

Compact thermal imaging cameras are now available for commercial vehicle mounting, with the introduction of Brigade’s PathFindIR II.

The company claims that PathFindIR II enables drivers see up to four times further than headlights in total darkness, poor weather, dust and smoke.

The camera detects the heat signature of objects, displaying images on a dash-mounted monitor, and Brigade says is is easy to install, works through a standard video output and fits in a range of locations.

They can also be linked to reversing and side view camera systems for optimal, all-round vision.
