Thompson unveils new £2.5m ServiceTech business22 May 2017

Bodybuilder Thompsons will using the forthcoming TIP-ex show (Harrogate Convention Centre; 1-3 June) to unveil its new ServiceTech support business.

The aim, says Thompsons, is to give operators a wider range of aftersales and engineering services, including for skiploader and hookloader body fitting, installing cranes and tractor kits, bodywork repairs to rigid tippers and trailers, and vehicle refurbishment.

The group has invested £2.5m in the new operation and assigned its entire workshop area at Blackburn site 3, which is now equipped with overhead gantry cranes and a shotblast and paint facility.

The new business is headed up by Nathan Ewins, who says ServiceTech will offer operators “immediate and obvious benefits”.

The group says the latest move will enable both parts and service units to grow independently, with separate market focus, and its web-based eParts operation will now have “greater autonomy and opportunity”.
