TIP moves Leeds branch to new Knottingley facility 29 January 2015

As part of expansion plans since the company was acquired by Chinese conglomerate HNA Group, trailers firm TIP Trailer Services UK has relocated its Leeds branch to a new facility adjacent to the M62/A1 intersection, at Knottingley in Yorkshire.

TIP Trailer Services is sharing the three-acre site with sister company TIP Tankers, and now offers trailer rental facilities as well as full trailer and vehicle maintenance services from its new regional branch.

"Moving to Knottingley has provided our customers with a much enhanced local branch that is superbly located for truck and trailer access to and from the motorway network," states TIP's commercial director Mike Furnival.

"Our sister company TIP Tankers was already based at this location, and there was more than sufficient additional space within the existing site to incorporate a fully comprehensive trailer branch facility."

Furnival says we're looking at a near £1 million investment and adds that Knottingley now has one MOT lane for all HGV vehicle types as well as three workshop lanes.

Currently, TIP operates its MOT lane for four days during the week but this will rise to five from early March.

The workshop is also supported by a fleet of TIP's mobile service units.
