Bell has a rental fleet of 1,400 units, mostly curtain-sided trailers, although there are also refrigerated, box van and skeletal trailers. Bell Trailers will continue to operate from its site in Nelson, and will retain its existing management team.
"We are very excited about the acquisition of Bell Trailers as we are acquiring an excellent business which is fully focused on delivering quality equipment and service to customers," says TIP's UK general manager Mike Furnival.
"The addition of TIP's service products, combined with our UK and European network, should only enhance the excellent service currently being provided."
Bell Trailer's managing director Michael Bell says the deal will see Bell enjoying further growth under new ownership.
