TNT selects Masternaut fleet management system 30 September 2011

TNT has announced that Masternaut telematics and tracking technology is now underpinning its drive to improve service efficiencies.

The system monitors TNT's 720-strong commercial vehicle fleet, allowing each one to be located accurately 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

TNT's fleet managers now have complete visibility, with the ability to identify individual vehicles, in terms of precise location, driver contact details and their ETA to the next delivery point.

Operators can update customers with parcels due times, and let them know if delays are likely, due to traffic jams, accidents or road works.

Steve Brown, divisional general manager, TNT special services, says that Masternaut's technology also provides operators with direct access to the Highways Agency roadside cameras, to see road and traffic conditions in real time.

"It's an absolutely superb system that allows us to not only monitor where each of our drivers is at any given time, but also provide our customers with as good a service as possible," states Brown.

"It allows the operator to take complete control of the fleet, but also use it as a national fleet, which has hugely increased our efficiency on delivery runs."
