TomTom cuts fuel costs for coach and bus operator 17 May 2012

South West Coaches has identified TomTom Business Solutions' tracking and Remote LINK Working Time system as the technology to help it better manage its vehicles and boost green credentials.

The Somerset-based coach and bus operator was looking for ways to reduce fuel costs and improve driver efficiency, and believes TomTom technology is the way forward.

The Remote LINK device enables employees to register working times while out on the road, producing a real-time record, and so reducing admin and associated costs for companies.

"We invested in the TomTom system having been quickly convinced it could cut our fuel consumption and help monitor and improve driver behaviour," comments Peter Fairey, South West Coaches' operations director.

Giles Margerison, TomTom Business Solutions' director, adds: "We are delighted that such a long standing travel firm has recognised the operational and bottom line efficiency gains that our technology can deliver."
