Totalkare raises its game with £750,000 investment 21 January 2020

Vehicle lifting equipment business Totalkare has announced that it is investing £750,000 in new premises and an ERP solution, as part of its plan to increase sales by 25%, following a record 2019.

The Halesowen-based business will relocate to a new purpose-built facility nearby, at a date to be confirmed, and it has already started to implement the ERP system which, it predicts, will deliver numerous efficiency improvements.

The company says it has already increased sales by 25% since an MBO in 2018, driven by its introduction of brake and headlamp testers, which it describes as “a real game-changer”.

David Hall, managing director, says: “R&D continues at pace and we are already planning the introduction of another new range of products and increasing the capabilities of our existing ones.”

On the move to new premises, he adds: “It’s a necessary move to give us the ability to optimise the workflow on the shop floor and increase our capacity to hold stock of mobile column lifts, brake testers, headlamp testers and other future products.”

The company is celebrating 40 years in business this year, and was formerly known as Somers Handling, Somers Vehicle Lifts and Somers Totalkare.
