Designed for high volume, multi-temperature produce on trunking runs, the double-deck Wedge trailer can hold 50 standard pallets or up to 90 roll cages, twice the load of a standard single-deck reefer.
The model on show at the NEC will have a temperature-controlled upper deck and ambient lower deck. Both decks can be loaded to full height and the trailer features an insulated twin-slide vertical door system, along with a four-part sliding insulated curtain inside each deck for additional thermal efficiency.
Alongside the Wedge, Transdek will be exhibiting its Duet Urban double-deck trailer, designed for high-volume, ‘last mile’ deliveries to city centres – it offers twice the load footprint of an 18-tonne rigid.
Elsewhere, on Transdek’s second stand, visitors will be able to see a working model of a vehicle-to-ground (V2G) double-deck lift.
The V2G range is supplied as a pre-clad, pre-tested loadhouse unit, giving a ready-made temperature-controlled and secure means of moving product between vehicles and the warehouse. The units can be installed in a day, minimising disruption.
