Transdek to unveil the Tall Boy at TCS&D Show25 July 2017

Transdek will be unveiling the Tall Boy – a new multi-temperature double-deck trailer – at this year’s TCS&D Show (13-14 September; Ricoh Arena, Coventry).

Developed for Eddie Stobart Logistics, the Tall Boy offers internal load clearance of up to 2.2m on each of its internal floors.

With its ultra-low chassis and maximum trailer dimensions, the Tall Boy offers up to 55% more capacity than a single-deck trailer, saving up to 35% on delivery miles for products.

As well as for domestic operations, the Tall Boy is intended to be used to import lightweight, temperature-controlled products from continental Europe – cutting up to 35% of ferry costs.

The Tall Boy on show will feature two temperature zones for transport of chilled and ambient products. It includes a Dhollandia tail-lift and can be married to Transdek’s double-deck loading bay lifts for faster loading.

Transdek will also be exhibiting its multi-temperature Wedge double deck trailer at the exhibition, which can transport up to 50 standard pallets or up to 90 roll cages.

The Wedge was first developed for Thomas Ridley Foodservice: the operator reports savings of more than £200,000 a year in transport costs, as well as cutting its annual CO2 emissions by over 190,000kg.
