TWT Logistics turns to Tiger for fleet upgrade05 April 2019

Cardiff-based TWT Logistics Group has taken delivery of the first of a batch of new trailers from Tiger Trailers, as parts of its 2019 fleet modernisation plan.

The family-owned operator has ordered six tri-axle curtainsiders and a specialist PSK for container work, and the new additions will join four other Tiger-built units acquired just over a year ago.

TWT has also commissioned Tiger to build curtainside bodies for two new rigids. The new trailers, along with DAF and Mercedes-Benz rigids, will go into operation at a new depot TWT is developing in Andover.

The trailers are all specified to EN12642XL standard, including the PSK frame and headboard.

Trevor Taylor, TWT owner, says product quality and Tiger’s proactive approach were key reasons for the deal.

Tiger is also working on a special trailer design for the operator, the details of which Taylor has not yet revealed. “This is a very innovative approach if we can make it work. I have confidence in the Tiger team and so far we are moving in the right direction. There’s a way to go yet, but we all have faith in the project.”

TWT has also acquired several DAF XF 480 FTG tractors with Super Space Cabs as part of its fleet upgrade, which join its fleet of 80 trucks and 120 trailers.
