Volkswagen Amarok is wired for sound with 5,000-watt sound system30 May 2014

Volkswagen enthusiasts have their ear to the ground this week at the Wörthersee GTI festival (28-31 May 2014), where VW Commercial Vehicles is unveiling its Amarok Power concept – with a 5,000-watt portable sound system, one of the loudest ever built.

The Amarok Power showcases the pick-up's practicality, integrating not only the sound system, but also deck space for the DJ. The kit has been designed to be fully portable, and can be set up and packed away by a single person.

The Amarok Power features special finishes and materials, including special Dynamic Grey metallic paint, with wing mirror covers and 22-inch alloys in Gunmetal.

Orange-painted brake calipers and decals complete the line-up, along with bi-xenon headlights with chrome inserts and chrome-plated twin tail pipes.

DJ equipment includes an Allen & Heath Xone:92, with Pioneer CDJ900NXS units used as input devices.

Sound output comes via two Void Acoustics Impulse 3t speakers – designed for Volkswagen's pick-up. A similarly adapted Void Acoustics Stasys Xair subwoofer ensures that the Amarok Power can reproduce exceptionally high frequencies with no distortion.

All components have been designed so that, when assembled, they fill the cargo bed of the Amarok.
