Volvo FMX six-wheeler is double first for Devon and RJ Hill 27 July 2012

Honiton, Devon-based RJ Hill (Haulage), which recently acquired its first Volvo FMX six-wheeler tipper, says that so far it is pleased with its new acquisition.

"We were impressed by the appearance and build quality of this particular Volvo," comments managing director Paul Hill.

"The new Volvo will undoubtedly enable us to maintain our service levels.. The purchase of this vehicle will certainly benefit our operation," he adds.

Featuring the frugal D11C-370bhp Volvo engine driving through the two-pedal fully-automated I-Shift gearbox, this FMX has been equipped with a Charlton Super-Lite body and Edbro CX-13 front-mounted tipping ram.

Driver reaction has been good, according to Hill, who feels that the automated gearbox will contribute towards reduced fuel consumption, as well as simplifying the driving operation.

The R J Hill Volvo was supplied by Truck and Bus Wales and West and will be serviced by Stuarts Commercials of Exeter.
