Volvo hybrid buses head for Canada 14 February 2013

Volvo Bus has received what it says its largest ever order for hybrid buses, from Quebec, Canada.

The company's North American subsidiary Nova Bus has signed a contract to deliver 475 hybrid vehicles, starting early in 2014.

The order, which also encompasses an option for a further 1,200 hybrid buses, was placed by ATUQ, a consortium consisting of the province's nine transit authorities.

"This order underlines the strong relationship ATUQ and Nova Bus have developed over the years," says Jean-Pierre Baracat, president of Nova Bus.

"ATUQ has renewed its confidence in our vehicles once again, and we are glad to continue to work together to further enhance transit services in our communities."
