Volvo to run fuel efficiency workshops at FTA conferences 22 August 2013

Volvo Trucks will be running workshop covering the findings of its driver challenge competitions at the upcoming FTA Transport Manager conferences, which return this autumn of 2013.

The Freight Transport Association says the aim will be to highlight fuel issues ranging from empty running to engine idling and coasting.

"Volvo Trucks is very pleased to sponsor the FTA Transport Manager series," comments Amanda Hiatt, Volvo Trucks marketing and PR director.

"With its focus on targeting key issues, it represents an excellent opportunity for us to engage with operators on maximising fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impact," she adds.

There will also be a prize draw at each of the 13 Transport Manager events – the winner getting use of a Volvo Truck for a week between February and September 2014 (year, model and exact time period to be at the discretion of Volvo Trucks).

This truck will operate Volvo's Dynafleet telematics and provide feedback on driver techniques. The winner will also have the opportunity to enter in the Volvo Trucks Driver Challenge 2014.
