VOSA product approval for VDO brake tester06 September 2013

In the last month the BM20200 brake tester – a joint development between VDO and BM Autotechnik – has received VOSA approval.

The agency has recognized the strengths of this product – which includes a tachograph upgrade capability – in the transport world.

The BM20200 mobile brake tester is designed for vehicles to be tested up to 20,000kg and can be used as an all in one solution for both tachograph testing and, as an ATF lane. The unit features the latest software used in all new digital tachographs, a PDA display and remote control.

The BM20200 also has a diagnostic printout connection to PC/Notebook with BM Windows software and requires a setup time of 15 minutes.

This system can be placed on gravel, supported by small steel plates under each of the feet. It is transported inside a specially designed house, which is built onto a flatrack (DROPS) with the housing built in aluminium and on a set of ramps, which are placed on the ground behind the housing.

Each ramp has a weight of only 50kg and can be easily moved by two operators.
