VW Commercial Vehicles launches telematics service 03 February 2015

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched a telematics service with the RAC, which it says aims to make life easier for fleet users across the UK for £12.50 per month.

Kevin Rendell, head of service and parts at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles UK, says it has been engineered to operate on fleets of any size, and provides an efficient method for managing vehicle running costs, while also increasing efficiency and reducing fleet downtime.

Users also get real-time data and reporting through a customisable web portal, accessible via laptop, tablet or smartphone, helping fleets to manage fuel costs etc.

They also get a Driverline concierge service for booking services and handling maintenance at local Van Centres.

Other product benefits include collision detection, fuel and CO2 monitoring, service alerts, service scheduling and geo-fencing.

"Running a cost-effective fleet is crucial to maintaining a profitable business, which is why more and more companies are investing in telematics to help manage their fleets," comments Rendell.

'Our telematics system is a comprehensive solution, which can help companies to reduce fuel costs, extend the life span of parts and components, and optimise vehicle efficiency," he adds.
