Waste management haulier chooses Volvo trucks again 21 January 2011

Family owned waste disposal firm Leeds Paper Recycling has added another Volvo to its fleet of 10 recycling trucks, citing quality as the reason for its ongoing selection.

"Our choice of purchase was only ever going to be Volvo, due to the quality of the truck from our experience over many years, and the excellent after-sales support and service we have had so far," explains LPR director Jamie Todd.

"Crossroads [the dealership] and Volvo have helped Leeds Paper Recycling grow into one of the leading waste management companies in Yorkshire, through value for money and the way they have looked after our vehicles 24 hours a day," he adds.

The new drawbar outfit's prime mover is an FM410 6x2 rear-steer rigid, equipped with Volvo's D11C 11-litre engine, which develops 410hp between 1,600 and 1,900 rpm and produces 1,950Nm of torque between 950 and 1,400 rpm. It is matched to Volvo's I-Shift automated transmission.

The truck was supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus of Birstall, near Batley. Another Volvo, with Geesink Norba RCV (refuse collection vehicle) bodywork is also on order.

The waste container handling bodywork was by Edbro and the trailer was supplied by King.
