Watts in the pink with MAN truck modernisation programme 10 March 2014

Concrete producer Watts Mix, has added a pink MAN 26-tonne TGM 26.340 6x4 mixer chassis to its distribution fleet – taking its total of MAN trucks to five.

The Bridlington-based company also says it now plans to replace some of its older vehicles with Euro 6-powered MAN chassis.

The MAN mixer chassis was selected for its low kerb weight, off-road stability, driver comfort and fuel economy, with Watts Mix director Adam Carr stating that the vehicle came out on top in its evaluation.

A specially designed PTO has also been incorporated to provide continuous load for the mixer body, while its Hymix 'P Series' body provides for six cubic metre capacity – reducing the risk of spillage on steep gradients.

Why the pink livery?

"We decided to contact the Breast Cancer Campaign charity, who we thought might benefit, as it has its own pink corporate colourways," explains Carr.

"We have pledged to donate a sum of money for every load of concrete we deliver with an ultimate target in excess of £10,000."

MAN's North East truck & Van in Hull is to provide overnight servicing and repairs – ensuring that breakdown don't result in "a 15-tonne, lorry-mounted lump of set-concrete and steel by the roadside".
